If you are thinking about a rural getaway in Asturias for the last weekend of May, Redes Natural Park will once again be full of great plans to enjoy nature, gastronomy and sustainable tourism. On May 29th, 30th and 31st, the 2nd Vega-Redes Vegetarian Gastronomic Days will take place, bringing together several local restaurants with special vegetarian and plant-based menus.
Whether you already follow a vegetarian lifestyle or simply want to discover new flavours in a unique setting, Redes becomes the perfect destination to combine mountains, peace and excellent food.
The Vega-Redes event was created to promote vegetarian and plant-based cuisine within Redes Natural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Asturias. Different local restaurants will be taking part, some offering vegetarian options and others serving fully plant-based menus.
It is a different and authentic way to discover local gastronomy while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and traditional villages of the natural park.
In addition, the event will be complemented by nature activities organised by Terix Biointerpretación, a company specialised in interpretive walks and ecotourism experiences in Redes.
Throughout the weekend, several guided bio-interpreted walks will be available at different times of the day, allowing visitors to discover some of the most beautiful corners of Redes Natural Park. These activities are designed to help visitors better understand the local wildlife, flora, landscapes and cultural heritage in a close and engaging way.
One of the most special activities of the programme will be “Ateneas”, a night-time experience focused on Iberian nocturnal birds of prey. A unique opportunity to enter the forest after dark and discover the fascinating world of owls and other nocturnal birds that inhabit Redes, always accompanied by the environmental interpretation of Terix Biointerpretación.
